1. Quick Start

Choose a Template or start from Custom ↓ Add blocks to the workspace ↓ Connect yellow Output → blue Input ↓ Configure each block in Properties ↓ Validate → Generate EA → Export MQ5 ↓ Compile & Backtest in MetaTrader 5
First-time tip: Start with Trend Following to see a complete structure before building from scratch.

2. Workspace

Add blocksDrag blocks from the left library onto the workspace.
Move blocksDrag a block header. A selected group moves together.
ZoomMouse wheel zooms around the cursor. Use − / + as alternatives.
PanHold the middle mouse button and drag freely in any direction.
FitFrames all blocks currently in the strategy.
100%Resets zoom and workspace position.

3. Blocks & Connections

Connect

Drag from a yellow output port and release on the next block's blue input port.

Disconnect

Hover a yellow wire until it highlights red, then click it to remove that connection.

Multi-select

Drag a selection rectangle on empty workspace or use Shift + click.

Duplicate / Copy / Paste

Use Duplicate or Ctrl/Cmd+D. Internal wires are preserved. Copy/paste also works with Ctrl/Cmd+C and Ctrl/Cmd+V. This is ideal for copying a BUY branch before converting the duplicate to SELL.

MT5 News Filter

Use MT5 News Filter inside the EA Builder to avoid or manage trades around economic news. The generated EA reads MetaTrader 5's native Economic Calendar at runtime, so NOUSALGO does not need a paid browser-side calendar API.

Typical setup: Currency = AUTO, Impact = HIGH, Block 30 minutes before news, Resume 15–30 minutes after news. You can also close positions before selected events.

Candlestick & Price Action

Use Candle Pattern for named candlestick patterns and Custom Candle for user-defined candle geometry.

Use Price Action Pattern for chart structures such as Double Top/Bottom, Head & Shoulders, Wedges, Rectangles, Pennants and Triangles. Select a pattern, adjust Lookback/Tolerance, then press Build Complete EA Structure to create an Event → Pattern → BUY/SELL → Risk → ATR → SL → TP flow automatically.

Chart-pattern recognition is an algorithmic approximation based on recent swing highs/lows and breakout confirmation. It is intentionally parameterized because chart patterns do not have one universal mathematical definition.

4. Properties

Click a block to edit it in the right-side Properties panel. Fields vary by block type.

5. Templates

6. Universal Logic

Use Universal Logic for flexible conditions. Compare supported indicators, candle data, market/account/position values and fixed values. Combine multiple conditions using AND / OR.

Candle shift: 0 = current candle, 1 = latest closed candle, 2 = two candles back.

7. Analyze from Image

  1. Open Analyze from Image.
  2. Upload a chart screenshot, markup or trading note.
  3. Run Analyze Strategy.
  4. Review the interpreted structure.
  5. Build the Visual Flow and manually verify every condition.
Image analysis is an assistant. Always verify the interpreted trading rules before generating an EA.

8. Draw Strategy

Sketch concepts such as trend, Entry, SL and TP, then run the drawing-analysis workflow. Use Clear to reset the drawing.

9. Generate & Export

Validate the flow and parameters first. Generate EA converts the visual strategy into MQL5 source. Export MQ5 downloads the .mq5 file.

Visual Strategy → MQ5 → MetaEditor Compile → EX5 → MT5 Strategy Tester

A successful export does not guarantee profitability or a clean compile. Always compile and backtest before live use.

10. Account & Trial

Continue with Google is the fastest sign-in method. Email/password remains available as a fallback where enabled.

Current trial: 7 days, with up to 2 MQ5 exports per day. The Account area displays remaining trial time and export usage.

12. Backtesting

  1. Export the MQ5 file.
  2. Open MetaEditor and compile it into EX5.
  3. Open MT5 Strategy Tester.
  4. Select EA, symbol, timeframe, date range and test settings.
  5. Run the test and review trades, drawdown and other results.

Offline tests can use historical data already stored on the PC. MT5 may need internet access first to download missing history.

13. Troubleshooting

Cannot connectDrag yellow output directly onto blue input. Zoom in if necessary.
Wrong wireHover until red, then click to disconnect.
Blocks off-screenUse Fit, zoom out, or middle-mouse pan.
Create SELL copySelect the BUY branch, duplicate, move it, then change duplicated entry/conditions.
